Pat Burrell hits three-run homer in 8-1 win

Facing a possible relegation to the bench with Cody Ross’ impending activation, Pat Burrell hit a three-run homer in San Francisco’s win over the Rockies on Monday.

The bomb was his fifth. It was obviously a welcome sight, but he’d go hitless in his next two at-bats before being subbed out for defensive purposes in the seventh inning. There’s almost no way Burrell won’t cede a significant amount of playing time to Ross upon his return.
