This Date In Hurricanes History...October 27, 1928

Brought to you by the UM Sports Hall of Fame!

In only its second year of varsity football (3rd overall) the Hurricanes defeated the University of Havana 62-0 in its season opener !

It remains the largest margin of victory in a shutout win in school history !

The photo below is from the 1926 Thanksgiving day game won by Miami 23-0...the schools' first year of operation...and the first team, which finished 8-0 under Coach Howard Buck playing a "Freshman squad' schedule...defeating Havana twice that year by the same 23-0 score.
